18th Century New Hall Porcelain Coffee Can Pattern 285

White porcelain coffee can decorated with a continuous upper border of hand-painted wild strawberries leaves in brown and mauve, interspersed with gilt scrolling foliage on a white ground. Rim, mid-body, and base banded with double gilt lines. Handle is plain white with small gilt acanthus terminal. Base is unglazed and unmarked, consistent with New Hall production of this period. Similar patterns were produced by Minton and Worcester.
