The Manufacture de Nast

The Manufacture de Nast was a hard-paste porcelain factory in Paris that operated from 1783 to 1835. The factory was founded by Jean Népomucène Hermann Nast, an Austrian-born French citizen who had previously worked at the Palace of Versailles. Nast collaborated with French chemist Louis-Nicolas Vauquelin to develop new, highly pigmented glazes, which helped the factory become prominent in the early 19th century. The factory supplied the French nobility, the French Directory government, Napoleon I, and many European courts.
